A Ryanair aircraft traveling from Rome executed an emergency landing at Lisbon Airport early Monday morning following a bomb threat. The incident was confirmed by CNN Portugal and other media outlets, which reported the plane landed safely around 8:00 AM in the Portuguese capital.

The alert originated from a phone call made by an individual who identified themselves as a law enforcement officer. Portuguese Judicial Police are currently investigating the caller's identity to assess the credibility of the threat.

This event is part of an unusual wave of coordinated threats targeting European airspace over the past three days. At least 18 similar incidents have affected flights across the continent, with a significant concentration linked to Italy. Unlike previous alerts, which were sent via anonymous Italian-language emails to Aeroporti di Roma and other airport authorities, this latest threat was delivered by telephone.

Security checks conducted on recent arrivals using bomb disposal units and canine teams have yielded negative results, confirming that prior threats were false. Authorities continue to monitor the situation as the investigation into the Lisbon call proceeds.
